Report

Golden State Highway is closed-off at Frenchman's Flat Day Use Area. From here, it's 1.7 miles of road walking through Piru Gorge to the start of the Slide Mountain Trail.

Slide Mountain comes into view on the left.

The trail cuts through the chaparral.

After about a mile, the trail reduces to singletrack.
Making a long switchback to gain the ridge.
Arriving at the ridge. On the left, a lookout with great views into the Sespe Wilderness.
