Independence Peak is most commonly climbed via the West Slope from Robinson Lake. Alternatively, the North Ridge offers a more direct route with some challenging Class 4 terrain on it's upper reaches. Less than four miles round trip, it makes for an exciting half (or quarter) day outing from Onion Valley Campground.
